Message from the Sustainability Committee Chair
Continuing challenges toward the next 100 years
The founding spirit of Fuji Kyuko Co., Ltd. is “expanding Mt. Fuji to the world.”
Since the time of our establishment almost 100 years ago, our company has aimed to vitalize the region by interconnecting maintenance of the environment and scenery of Mt. Fuji and its surroundings with business development and by attracting both domestic and international visitors to the area.
Originally the site of the present-day Fuji-Q Highland was a lava-covered wilderness. But our company imported soil to the area, planted trees, and built lush green scenery there. At the same time, we also constructed a theme park and hotel and created employment in the region. While taking care of the already existing nature, we are developing the area at the foot of Mt. Fuji by creating an even more affluent environment. We have instilled this way of thinking into all our projects and have continued to conduct business accordingly.
In 2023, looking ahead to the next 100 years, we carefully restudied the various social challenges surrounding our company and specified the key issues, or materiality, that should be addressed to both continue development and to realize a sustainable world. We are taking various initiatives toward the solution of these key issues.
In this website, we have introduced some of the initiatives that we have conducted so far. By reading it, I hope that you will deepen your understanding of our company’s business and, from a long-term perspective, support our efforts to face challenges toward the next 100 years. I look forward to your cooperation in this endeavor.
